About the Program at Sauerbier House Sauerbier House is a contemporary art space comprising of galleries, artist studios and a small artist led garden nurturing local habitat. We are a small team of staff and volunteers, and we would like another person to join our team to help us maintain the Wash House Garden.  The Wash House Garden is set to the side of Sauerbier House and is an extension the Port Noarlunga coastal dunes garden containing predominantly local coastal plants.   Key Tasks   ·         Assist with weeding and maintenance of the Wash House Garden and associated areas around the grounds. ·         Assisting with non-professional building maintenance such as sweeping, dusting, removing spider webs and report any building maintenance requiring attention to staff. ·         Ensure supplied tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored securely after use. ·         Ensure Health Alert Checklists and processes are followed. ·         Some gallery sitting may be required.   Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities ·         Ability to identify local/ native plants from non-local species ·         Understanding of garden maintenance and care.  ·         Knowledge and ability to carry out general maintenance. ·         Knowledge of relevant equipment capabilities, and safe use of tools. ·         Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements. ·         Interest in contemporary art   Time Commitment Wednesdays or Fridays - Weekly/ fortnightly? 10am – 4pm (half days are possible)   Special Requirements ·         Department of Human Services (DHS) Cleared Working with Children Check ·         Attend Child Safe Environment training.
