You're invited: Help us plan a Connect Club for Albany

Loneliness isn't just an uncomfortable feeling — it's a genuine health issue. Research links chronic loneliness to increased risks of heart disease, depression, and even early mortality, with some studies comparing its impact to smoking. It affects people at every stage of life: older residents living alone, young people new to the area, carers, newcomers, and anyone going through a tough transition.

The good news? The fix is refreshingly simple — connection. That's why we're starting a Connect Club: a community initiative bringing people together across generations and circumstances, starting with younger and older residents, and open to anyone who could use more community in their life.

We're holding a planning meeting to shape what this looks like — and we need volunteers to help bring it to life.

No experience necessary — just a willingness to help build something good for the community.

📅 Wednesday 2nd September 🕒 4pm – 6pm 📍 Lotteries House meeting room: 211 North Rd, Centennial Park

Come along if you'd like to help with organising events, spreading the word, mentoring, or just want to see how you can pitch in.
