Bring your energy and help make a difference for children with cancer!
Are you outgoing, energetic and the kind of person who loves getting involved? Redkite is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make the Sydney French Open a fun and memorable weekend of tennis, food and community.
Redkite supports families facing childhood cancer with practical, emotional and financial support, helping them through some of the toughest moments of their lives. This event is a great opportunity to get together, have some fun and raise funds that make a real difference.
About the event
The Sydney French Open is a fun-filled community tennis event bringing people together for a day of sport, food and fundraising. It’s a great opportunity to get involved, meet new people and help raise vital funds for families facing childhood cancer.
The annual event raises funds to support Caledonian families who are in Sydney while their children undergo long-term cancer treatment at Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Funds raised help with practical costs associated with their time away from home, including accommodation, food and transportation.
What you'll be doing
We’re looking for volunteers to help out on the day keep the event buzzing. Depending on your shift, you might be:
- Setting up food stalls, marquees and equipment
- Preparing and serving food and interacting with event attendees
- Helping create a welcoming and positive atmosphere
- Talking about Redkite to attendees
- Packing down food stalls and equipment at the end of the day
You’ll need to be comfortable being on your feet for the duration of your shift and happy to get stuck into setting up and packing down marquees, tents and other equipment.
About you
You don’t need previous volunteering or event experience — just bring your enthusiasm, energy and willingness to get stuck in!
You’re someone who:
- Is friendly, approachable and enjoys being around people
- Brings positive energy and a can-do attitude
- Is happy to pitch in wherever needed
- Is comfortable working as part of a team
- Can be on your feet for an extended period
- Is physically able to assist with event setup and pack-down
- Understands the importance of creating a welcoming and respectful environment for families and children
As children will be attending the event, all volunteers will need to complete a Working with Children Check and confirm through our Volunteer Agreement that they have no current or historical matters relating to child protection or child safety.
