Help us create connection, conversation and community for older men.
Our aged care facility in Griffith, ACT, is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic volunteer to lead a Men’s Group for our residents.
The group is a great opportunity for men to get together, share stories, enjoy conversation and participate in activities that interest them.
What you might do
- Facilitate relaxed, friendly group discussions
- Organise simple activities based on residents’ interests
- Encourage conversation, storytelling and sharing of experiences
- Talk about sport, current events, hobbies, cars, travel, history or other topics
- Help create a welcoming space where everyone feels included
- Most importantly, enjoy a cuppa and a chat!
We’re looking for someone who is
- Friendly, approachable and a good listener
- Comfortable engaging with older people
- Reliable and enthusiastic
- Interested in building meaningful relationships
- Able to bring their own interests, ideas and life experiences to the group
No formal experience is required — just a willingness to spend time with our residents and help create enjoyable social connections.
Whether you’re retired, working part-time or simply have some time to give, your involvement could make a real difference to the wellbeing and enjoyment of our residents.
