Volunteer Engagement & Community Coordinator - Remote & Flexible Hours

About Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc
Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation that brings communities together through family-focused fundraisers, markets and events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs and skills development. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. By joining the LMA team, you become part of a passionate, inclusive community making a real difference.
Role Purpose
As our Volunteer Engagement & Community Coordinator, you will be the friendly face our volunteer community turns to. Sitting within the People & Culture Team, you will keep our Facebook group buzzing with fun facts, polls and milestone shout-outs, help new volunteers feel welcome in their first weeks, and turn everyday recognition into something people genuinely look forward to — through a newsletter people actually want to read and volunteer profile cards that celebrate who they are.
This is a fully remote role, so you can do it from home, from a cafe, or from the passenger seat on a road trip. What matters is that you bring warmth, consistency and a genuine love of people.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Engagement — Actively engage volunteers within LMA’s Facebook group through regular, planned and approved activities — Friday Fun Facts, polls, and milestone shout-outs.
- Welcoming New Volunteers — Help coordinate the “first-day” meeting for new starters with their Team Leader, giving them a warm introduction to LMA.
- Check-Ins — Check in with new volunteers at key early milestones to see how they are settling in and flag any early support needs to their Team Leader.
- Recognition & Profiles — Coordinate volunteer recognition (shout-outs, milestone celebrations, appreciation certificates) and design simple volunteer profile cards for social media and the newsletter.
- Newsletter — Pull together a short, regular newsletter that keeps volunteers informed and connected.
