Treasurer – Board Position

Motion by the Ocean Inc. is a small, community-driven charity creating social connection and inclusion through our Cycling Without Age Sorrento, Beach to Bush and Moving Food programs.

We are seeking a Treasurer with strong financial governance capability and prior board experience. This is a strategic Board position rather than a hands-on bookkeeping role. You will work with our bookkeeper who manages the day-to-day financial processing, allowing the Treasurer to focus on financial oversight, sustainability, risk management and governance.

As a small charity in a phase of growth, we require someone who can provide strategic oversight of financial sustainability, risk management, and compliance in line with ACNC principles of good governance.

Ideal candidates will bring:

• Previous experience as a director or committee member
• Relevant qualifications or experience (e.g., GAICD or similar)
• Competence in financial reporting, budgeting, and charity compliance
• A commitment to ethical stewardship and community impact
• Ability to support a small, volunteer-driven organisation
• Alignment with our mission to create vibrant, connected communities

You’ll be contributing to a charity that has delivered 10,500+ passenger experiences, 5,300+ trishaw rides, and redistributed 104,000 meals to people in need.
