We’re on the hunt for a volunteer Tai Chi Instructor who can bring energy, empathy, and expertise to our senior community.

What You Bring

  1. Passion and Empathy
  • Heart for Seniors: You enjoy working with older adults and bring patience, kindness, and understanding to every class.
  • Awareness of Aging: You’re familiar with how age-related changes, common health conditions, and mobility limitations may affect seniors—and you teach with these considerations in mind.
  1. Fitness and Health Knowledge
  • Tai Chi Expertise: You have completed a Tai Chi course from a recognized provider that meets the industry's foundation requirements

  • Modifications and Safety: You confidently adapt poses to accommodate different fitness levels, mobility challenges, and medical conditions.

  1. Teaching & Facilitation Skills
  • Clear Communication: You can explain exercises in simple terms. Seniors appreciate your clear instructions.
  • Adaptability: You tailor your teaching style to suit a wide range of abilities.
  • Encouragement: You help seniors feel confident, empowered, and motivated to stay active and centred.

Volunteer Commitment

As a volunteer tai chi tutor, you’ll lead:

  • weekly sessions lasting 1 hour
  • anytime between 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. (subject to room availability)
  • open for discussion for online class

Location

We’re conveniently located in Sydney’s CBD, just a short walk from Town Hall or St James station.
