Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
We are currently looking for a friendly volunteer to spend some quality one-on-one time with Elaine.
About Elaine:
Elaine has a rich background as a chef, meaning she knows her way around a kitchen and has a lifetime of culinary stories to share. These days, she loves nothing more than settling in to watch a good movie on Netflix and enjoying a relaxed, friendly conversation.
The Role:
- What: 1:1 companionship and social visits.
- Activities: Enjoying casual chats, sharing stories, and watching movies together on Netflix.
- Time Commitment: Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).
About You:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You possess a kind heart, compassion, and reliability.
- You are a warm, patient, and engaging listener.
- A love of food, cooking, or movies is a wonderful bonus!
About the Program:
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.
