Volunteer Opportunity: Share a Story and a Game of Cards with William!
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
We are currently searching for a friendly, engaging volunteer (18 years of age or older) to spend some quality one-on-one time with William.
About William:
William has a fascinating background as a former Horse Race Trainer. He has a lifetime of incredible stories from the track and a deep love for racing history. These days, he enjoys relaxed one-on-one conversations and is looking for a friendly face to join him for a casual game of cards.
The Role:
- What: 1:1 companionship and social visits
- Activities: Enjoying a good chat, sharing stories, and playing card games together.
- Time Commitment: Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).
About You:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You possess a kind heart, compassion, and reliability.
- You enjoy a casual game of cards and a good conversation.
- An interest in horse racing or sports is a bonus, but not required!
About the Program:
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.
