Could you spare one hour a week to visit an older person in the Doyalson North area? Your time, kindness and conversation could bring comfort, friendship and joy to someone who may be feeling lonely.
Wesley Aged Care Volunteer Visitors is looking for a kind and caring female volunteer to visit an older person in the Doyalson North area for one hour each week.
A simple visit can mean so much. You might share a cuppa, have a friendly chat, listen to stories, do a puzzle or enjoy a gentle walk together.
You do not need special experience — just warmth, patience and a willingness to be there for someone.
Requirements
- Be 18 years or older
- Visit for at least 1 hour per week or fortnight
- Commitment for 12 months
- Complete**** an interview, referee checks and a National Criminal History Check
What You’ll Do
- Visit an older person regularly (usually once a week or fortnight)
- Provide companionship through conversation and shared interests
- Help enhance their sense of belonging and emotional wellbeing
- Build a genuine, rewarding connection
