Volunteer Opportunity: Share a Love of Music and Animals with Connie!
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
We are currently searching for a friendly, engaging volunteer (18 years of age or older) to spend some quality one-on-one time with Connie.
About Connie:
Connie is currently experiencing social isolation and would greatly benefit from a regular, friendly visitor. She has a deep love for classic music, especially listening to the timeless tunes of John Denver and Doris Day. When she isn't enjoying music, Connie loves watching animal shows on television and would welcome a companion to share these simple pleasures with.
The Role:
- What: 1:1 companionship and social visits.
- Activities: Having a bright chat, listening to favourite classic tracks, or watching animal documentaries together.
- Time Commitment: Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).
About You:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You possess a kind heart, compassion, and reliability.
- You enjoy music, nature/animal programs, and a warm conversation.
About the Program:
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.
By giving just an hour or two of your time, you can make a massive difference in Connie's week and build a wonderful, rewarding connection.
