Share a Love of Stories and Nature with Isabel!
Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
We are currently searching for a friendly, engaging volunteer (18 years of age or older) to spend some quality one-on-one time with Isabel.
About Isabel:
Isabel is currently experiencing social isolation and is looking forward to welcoming a regular companion into her life. She has a wonderful appreciation for the quiet joys of life, particularly reading and gardening. Isabel would love to find a kind visitor to chat about books, share gardening tips, or simply enjoy a warm conversation together.
The Role:
- What: 1:1 companionship and social visits.
- Activities: Enjoying a friendly chat, talking about favourite books, or spending time appreciating a backyard garden.
- Time Commitment: Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).
About You:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You possess a kind heart, compassion, and reliability.
- You enjoy a good conversation, books, or spending time in nature.
- A green thumb is a bonus, but absolutely not required!
About the Program:
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.
By giving just an hour or two of your time, you can make a massive difference in Isabel's week and build a wonderful, rewarding friendship.
