Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
We are currently searching for a friendly, engaging volunteer (18 years of age or older) to spend some quality one-on-one time with Betty.
About Betty:
Betty is currently struggling with social isolation and is deeply missing regular human connection. She would love to welcome a kind, reliable companion into her life for a warm cup of tea, a heartfelt chat, and a regular dose of friendly company to brighten her week.
The Role:
- What: 1:1 companionship and social visits.
- Activities: Enjoying relaxed conversations, sharing everyday stories, and offering a supportive, friendly presence.
- Time Commitment: Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).
About You:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You possess a kind heart, deep compassion, and reliability.
- You are an empathetic listener who values genuine connection and friendship.
About the Program:
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.
