Spanish Speaking Male Volunteer Needed to Share Sports, Cards, and a Chat with Nestor!

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.

We are currently searching for a friendly, engaging volunteer (preferably male, 18 years of age or older) to spend some quality one-on-one time with Nestor.

About Nestor:
Nestor is originally from Argentina and is a native Spanish speaker. He is currently experiencing social isolation and is deeply missing regular male companionship and cultural connection. Nestor would love to find a male volunteer to visit him for a warm 1:1 chat in Spanish, watch his favourite sports on television, and share a friendly, casual game of cards.

The Role:

  • What: 1:1 companionship.
  • Activities: Chatting in Spanish, sharing stories, watching sports together, and playing card games.
  • Time Commitment: Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).

About You:

  • You are a male volunteer
    (to match Nestor's preference).
  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You speak and understand Spanish.
  • You possess a kind heart, compassion, and reliability.
  • You enjoy sports, card games, and a relaxed conversation.

About the Program:
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.

By giving just an hour or two of your time, you can make a massive difference in Nestor's life, helping him stay connected to his language and heritage while building a fantastic mateship.
