Cheerful Volunteer Visitor – Bring Friendship & Conversation to a Lady in Macleod
Are you a cheerful, friendly person who enjoys a good conversation and spending time with others?
MiCare is looking for a warm and positive volunteer to provide regular social visits and companionship to an older lady living in an aged care home in Macleod, VIC.
She would love to be matched with someone who is cheerful, friendly and easy to talk to — someone who can bring positive energy to their visits and enjoy spending time together.
Your visits might include having a cup of tea or coffee, chatting about everyday life, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
Even a simple conversation and a familiar friendly face can make a meaningful difference. Through regular visits, you can help her feel more socially connected and bring more companionship, warmth and enjoyment into her everyday life.
About the commitment
We are looking for someone who can visit weekly or fortnightly and ideally commit to volunteering for at least six months.
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, and we hope to support you in building a genuine and lasting connection with the person you visit.
As a MiCare volunteer, you will receive:
- Full training and induction
- Ongoing support from the MiCare team
- Reimbursement for eligible travel expenses
- Opportunities to attend volunteer catch-ups and events
