Digital Content & Social Media Volunteer at MITE Radio

The Stairway Project Inc

MITE Radio is looking for a creative and reliable volunteer to help turn our radio and technology content into engaging digital content for our website and social media.

MITE Radio is a not-for-profit online radio station connecting mature Australians through music, conversation, technology information and digital inclusion.

You won’t be starting from scratch. We have an existing library of Canva templates, previous posts and other content created by our former volunteer, providing a great foundation for someone new to build on.

What you might do:

  • Create and schedule social media posts using existing MITE Radio content
  • Turn our technology and cyber safety snippets into engaging social media content
  • Add snippets and related information to the MITE Radio blog
  • Use Canva to adapt existing templates or create new graphics when needed
  • Repurpose content across different social media platforms
  • Help keep our online channels active, useful and engaging
  • Suggest new ideas for sharing MITE Radio content with our audience

When the MITE Show is in production, an important part of the role will be helping us turn useful information discussed on-air into blog and social media content that can continue helping people after the program has aired.

About you:

You don’t need to be a professional marketer. We’d love to hear from someone who:

  • Enjoys social media and digital content
  • Communicates clearly
  • Has a good eye for engaging and accessible content
  • Is reliable and comfortable working independently
  • Is happy to take ownership of their area and keep in touch with the team

Experience with Canva is helpful but not essential.

What we offer:

  • A flexible role that can be completed remotely
  • Access to our Canva subscription and existing templates
  • Plenty of existing content to work with
  • Guidance and support from the MITE Radio team
  • The opportunity to contribute to a not-for-profit organisation helping older Australians stay connected, informed and digitally confident

We anticipate around 2–3 hours per week when content is flowing regularly, with quieter periods at other times. Hours are flexible.
