Coach and Mentor for High-Achieving and Academically Gifted High School Girls

The Harding Miller Education Foundation provides educational tools and support to help lift the educational achievements and career aspirations of high school girls in Australian public schools who demonstrate academic excellence and face financial barriers. Each scholarship is valued at $20k over four years and includes access to a wide variety of study-skill and career enhancement tools including a laptop, data plan, tutoring funds, online homework help, pre-paid educational expense cards and support from a personal coach!

Volunteer coaching is done remotely - mainly by phone - and provides personalised support and mentoring to our scholars throughout the duration of their scholarship • Being the scholar's first point of contact when they need advice or assistance to make the most of their scholarship tools • Interacting with scholars monthly and aiming to have an actual conversation at least twice per term • Encouraging scholars to make full use of their scholarship tools - including helping them source tutors and manage their tutoring budget • Supporting scholars to explore experiences that enhance their education and grow their tertiary education and career aspirations • Being interested in the scholar and their education and acting as their education advocate • Acting as a positive adult role model in all interactions
