Chinese-Speaking Volunteer Needed — Merrylands

We’re looking for a kind, patient and friendly Chinese-speaking volunteer to spend time with an older person living in a residential care facility in Merrylands.

For someone who speaks Chinese, being able to 用中文聊天 (chat in Chinese), share memories and talk about family, culture and life can bring comfort and connection.

Your visits could include:

• Enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and 用中文聊聊天
• Listening to Chinese music
• Watching Chinese programs or cooking shows
• Sharing stories, memories and cultural traditions
• Simply spending time together and enjoying some company

A familiar conversation and a little companionship can mean so much.

No previous volunteering experience is required — just kindness, reliability and a willingness to listen and connect.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) supports older people to reduce social isolation and build meaningful friendships through regular visits.
