¿Hablas español? Brighten an Older Person’s Day!

Make a Difference Through Friendship and Connection
We are looking for a kind, patient and friendly Spanish-speaking volunteer to spend time with an older person living in a residential aged care facility in Carramar.
This is a wonderful opportunity to build a meaningful friendship and provide companionship through relaxed, enjoyable activities. Visits might include:
- Having conversations in Spanish and sharing stories and memories
- Listening to Spanish music together
- Watching Spanish cooking shows
- Talking about Spanish culture, traditions, food and family
- Sharing cultural memories and experiences
- Helping maintain a sense of familiarity, connection and belonging through language and culture
The ideal volunteer will be warm, reliable and comfortable having relaxed conversations in Spanish. No formal experience is required — just a willingness to listen, chat, share and spend quality time with someone.
Through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), volunteers help older people experiencing or at risk of social isolation develop meaningful friendships and maintain important social connections.
Can you spare an hour a week or even a fortnight? Your time could make a wonderful difference to someone’s day.
If you speak Spanish, enjoy connecting with older people and would love the opportunity to brighten someone’s life through friendship and companionship, we would love to hear from you!
