The Maintenance Marvel Crew is based at Ronald McDonald House North Australia, Townsville. Some of the main activities/tasks are:
- Building repairs
- Residential building maintenance
- Painting
- Concrete patching
- Picking up of donated items or disposal of unwanted items at the tip as required
- Cleaning of exterior/outdoor spaces using the gurney
- Safe usage of household tools and equipment
- Relocating of House items to differing room or storage
- Adhoc. mowing of lawns
- Adhoc. tasks to support the seamless operation of the House
- Monitoring equipment and related goods, reporting any maintenance or inventory orders as necessary
Desirable Skills:
- A friendly, nurturing, trustworthy, patient, compassionate, tolerant, reliable and vigilant character
- Volunteers performing this role must be able to demonstrate a history of skilled, accident free driving
- Own transport or have the ability to travel to and from the site
- Open and accepting of diversity; able to demonstrate empathy
- Emotionally stable and resilient to potential high pressure scenarios
- Must enjoy helping us maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the House and do so proactively and with enthusiasm
- Experience with relevant equipment e.g. mowers, trimmers, whipper snippers
- Experience in similar roles highly regarded
- Be physically fit and able to complete the tasks assigned
- Customer orientated, outgoing, confident and proactive
- Team player whilst able to work autonomously
- Good communicator, able to engage with a wide range of people
- Preferred experience working with families and children
