Chatty Cafe Volunteer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome participants to the Chatty tables and help them feel comfortable
• Initiate and guide friendly, inclusive conversations using prompts from the Chatty Café toolkit
• Encourage participation from people who may be shy, new, or hesitant
• Maintain a warm, safe, and supportive environment
• Attend Chatty Café volunteer induction & training (1 hour online)
• Work collaboratively with other volunteers, staff and café staff
• Accept appropriate direction, supervision and feedback
• Report all incidents and injuries immediately to the facilitator and Coordinator/Volunteer Coordinator
• Refer any issues or concerns regarding clients to the facilitator
