Love events, content creation, and bringing big ideas to life?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Events Support Volunteer to join the team at Volunteering Queensland and help deliver the 2026 Queensland Volunteering Conference, our flagship professional development event for volunteer leaders.

This is a hands-on, project-based opportunity running from September to December 2026, perfect for someone keen to build experience in events, marketing, communications, and project delivery.

Why You'll Love It

You'll be part of a small, passionate team working behind the scenes on a major statewide conference. You'll get meaningful work, real responsibility, and the chance to see an event come together from planning through to delivery and post-event wrap-up.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll support the conference team across the final stages of the event planning and delivery. Tasks may include:

  • Before the Event: Researching suppliers, creating promotional content and assets, assisting with delegate packs, signage, speaker gifts and presentation materials
  • During the Event: Supporting event setup and delivery, welcoming delegates, assisting with enquiries and generally helping create a positive and professional conference experience
  • After the Event: Curating photos and video content, assisting with session recordings, collating and analysing attendee feedback and supporting event pack-down and project close-out.

About You

We’re looking for someone full of enthusiasm who is highly organised and detail-oriented, a confident communicator and comfortable using Microsoft Office.

If you have experience in event coordination or marketing and already know your way around Canva and video editing tools, it’s a bonus.

What You’ll Gain

At Volunteering Queensland our volunteer opportunities are inclusive, flexible and meaningful. As a VQ Volunteer, you will enjoy:

  • Flexibility to choose the days and times that work for you (approximately 5-8 hours per week)
  • Training, mentoring and ongoing support
  • Practical experience and the chance to expand your professional network
  • A flexible role in a fun and collaborative office environment in Brisbane CBD
  • The opportunity to contribute to a sector that makes a real difference across Queensland.

If you're looking for a rewarding project where you can build professional skills, meet great people, and play a key role in delivering a high-profile event, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and help us bring the 2026 Queensland Volunteering Conference to life.
