
We have so much to shout out about, but need your help!!! Clota Cottage Neighbourhood House offers a broad range of community programs that provide opportunities for socialisation, adult education, seniors support, self development, employability skills, settlement support, health and wellbeing, and much more.
We are looking for a volunteer with a flare for marketing and communications to raise awareness of our neighbourhood house, programs and events. This opportunity is suited to someone keen to apply and develop their skills while contributing to a meaningful community organisation. This opportunity may be shared with another marketing volunteer.
- Prepare newsletters, articles, stories and other communications materials.
- Carry out research or collate existing data and testimonials to interesting and presentable format that showcase community impact
- Create engaging social media content to promote programs, events, and community activities. Schedule and publish posts across social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
- Assist with website updates and content development
- Develop graphics and visual content using CANVA
- Assist with compilation of Annual Report
- Potentially assist with development of grant applications
- Provide input into marketing strategy and schedule
- Liaise with team members to source stories, images and technical content, and assist with events and community engagement activities.
Required Skills
- At least two years experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
- Computer literacy with proficiency in CANVA and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- A good understanding of social media platforms and best practices
- Creative and enthusiastic about storytelling and community engagement
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
- Willingness to learn and contribute new ideas
- Ability to speak Chinese would be an advantage but not essential.
