Activate Mental Health is seeking a pool of enthusiastic Volunteer Walking Group Leaders to support our weekly walking club around Hyde Park in Perth over Spring and Summer!

The Opportunity

We're looking for a small pool of dedicated volunteer facilitators to lead our weekly walking club. The goal is to have at least two facilitators co-host each session to ensure a supportive, engaging experience for all participants. You won't have to commit each week if life gets in the way.

As a Walking Club Leader, you'll play a crucial role in:

  • Creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
  • Encouraging conversation and connection among walkers.
  • Ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the group.

Walking Club Details

When: Weekly, Saturday mornings, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, commencing October 3, 2026, and concluding March 20, 2027)

Where: Hyde Park, Perth (meeting point on the corner of Glendower and Palmerston Street)

The Walk: We'll enjoy three laps of the beautiful Hyde Park lakes (approximately 850 meters per lap), offering a gentle and refreshing start to the weekend.

The Rotary Club of Northbridge proudly supports these events, helping us expand our reach and impact in the community.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in mental health and community well-being.

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to weekly sessions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    Group facilitation experience is a bonus but not essential. We'll provide guidance and support!

Commitment expectation

We hope you can host at least one walk per month between October 2026 and March 2027.

Training provided

You will need to be available for an orientation on Saturday 3rd October at 7:30 am at BOOtoo cafe, before our first event begins at 9 am, which is around the corner from Hyde Park. Coffee is on us!

In addition to this, you will also have access to a self-paced volunteering course to be onboarded as an Activate Mental Health Volunteer
