E-Waste and Chemical Support Volunteers assist Council with the operation of the self-service E-Waste and Chemical drop-off facility at the Campbelltown City Council Depot. Volunteers provide a friendly and helpful first point of contact for members of the public, assisting them with correct disposal procedures and ensuring the facility remains safe, orderly and welcoming.

Key duties include:

  • Welcoming and assisting members of the public using the facility.
  • Providing guidance on correct disposal locations and procedures.
  • Directing residents to Council staff when assistance is required or materials are unsuitable or unsafe.
  • Monitoring the area and reporting hazards, spills, leaks or other concerns to Council staff.
  • Assisting with keeping the facility clean, safe and orderly.
  • Following Council WHS procedures, site instructions and reasonable directions.
  • Wearing required PPE and attending mandatory training.
  • Working safely around vehicles, waste materials and other potential hazards.
  • Representing Council in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Reporting incidents, hazards or near misses to Council staff.
  • Only undertaking tasks within the volunteer's training and level of responsibility
