☕ Share a Little Piece of Italy Through Friendship - Community Social Volunteer

We're looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with an older Italian gentleman who would love some company and conversation. Having spent much of his life connected to Italian culture and language, he feels most comfortable speaking Italian and would enjoy sharing stories, memories, and laughter with someone who understands or would like to practise the language.

As a volunteer, you may:

• Chat in Italian and share stories
• Enjoy a game of cards together
• Share a coffee and friendly conversation
• Reminisce about family, food, travel, and life experiences
• Provide regular companionship and social connection

💜 What's involved?

• A minimum 6-month commitment
• Weekly or fortnightly visits
• Visits on the same day and time to help build a meaningful connection
• Flexible visiting times between 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Sunday
• Visits take place in the older person's home within the local community

💙 No special skills or experience are required. If you're kind, reliable, patient, and enjoy connecting with others, we'd love to hear from you. Italian-speaking volunteers are encouraged to apply.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
