We are looking for a compassionate, confident Arabic speaker to provide invaluable in-class support to our trainers and participants.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Jesuit Community College provides real skills for life, learning and work. With a range of practical, vocational courses we help our learners prepare for the world of work and further study.

POSITION DETAILS

• Guiding new participants through the sign-up process alongside the trainer
• Assisting with course delivery to ensure smooth engaging sessions.
• Providing targeted English language support to help grasp participants grasp complex concepts
• Helping learners complete course documents and practical exercises with clarity and confidence

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Community-spirited with a passion to encourage others to achieve their best.
• Patience and ability to tutor and encourage learners
• Active listening skills
• Flexible and adaptable, assisting where and as needed during the session time.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with tasks and deliver on time.
• Committed to regular attendance and task accomplishment
• Genuine interest in supporting people from a range of backgrounds
• Positive attitude
• Demonstrated teamwork and willingness to take on a range of tasks and activities as requested

DESIRED EXPERIENCE (but not essential)
• Previous teaching and training experience

TRAINING PROVIDED
• Brief orientation and Organisation induction training offered.

CONFIRMED VOLUNTEERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
• Attend friendly, informal interview.
• Complete the standard Jesuit Social Services Volunteer application.
• Undergo a Police check (provided at no cost for you) and a Working with Children check
