Volunteer Committee Member - Event/Fundraising Coordinator

The Gosford 50+ Leisure and Learning Centre is a welcoming space for people aged 50 and over, offering activities, programs, and affordable meals to support connection and well-being. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing and well organised Event/Fundraising Coordinator (Volunteer) to oversee and manage Social Events/Raffles of the Centre. The Event/Fundraising Coordinator is a Committee member who plays a key role in organising and overseeing events available to the members.

Key Responsibilities • Organise and facilitate the running of social and fundraising events at the Centre
• Your ability to organise these events like our Member Christmas Party and Australia's Biggest Morning Tea provide our members with opportunities to socialise in a safe and fun environment. The provision of raffles for significant occasions is something our members have enjoyed for many years. • Organising and overseeing the events including ticket sales, staffing for the event, procurement of decorations and organising entertainment • Organising a team to help with the setting up and closing down of the event • Provide updates and advertising material for the Centre, Social Media and Webpage Coordinator on a regular basis

Key Requirements • Good organisational skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Good communication skills to liase with volunteers • Commitment to the Centre’s values of community, respect, inclusion, and support • Helping people age actively, mentally and physically in a safe environment.

Time Commitment • Averaging one day per week either at the Centre or at multiple sites for the process of finding, acquiring and managing the goods and services to operate the event needs. • Attendance at monthly Committee meetings (one afternoon per month)

Training & Support Support and training in Centre-specific procedures will be provided. MYOB training is available. You will be working alongside a friendly and supportive team of volunteers.
