Stroke Recovery Clubs/Groups operate in local communities in NSW and under the affiliation of the Stroke Recovery Association NSW.

We are looking for 3-4 volunteers to work on a rotating basis in pairs with the Stroke Club in Pennant Hills.

All volunteers will be working with individuals who have experienced Stroke with varying degrees of disability and communication levels. Volunteers will never be expected to provide personal care to members.

Volunteers must pass a criminal record check prior to beginning volunteering, the cost will be covered by the association.

Volunteer will be

  • Assist with setting up tables and chairs for meetings (approx 30)
  • Setting up and packing up additional equipment such as for activities
  • Assist with games and activities at the Club including
  • Make tea/coffee and help with food preparation and setting the table for morning tea & cleaning up after
  • Serving food and cleaning up empty plates and dishes (dishwasher available)
  • Safe handling and storage of food
  • Cleaning the kitchen benches after morning tea
  • Prepare a shopping list when required
  • Possible attendance at outings, cost of which would be fully covered by the club
