Gardening & Grounds Maintenance Volunteer – Mutual Obligation Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House is looking for a reliable volunteer to help maintain our gardens, outdoor areas and community spaces. IMPORTANT: This opportunity is specifically for people who currently have mutual obligation requirements and are looking for a suitable volunteering activity that may contribute towards their individual requirements. If you do not currently have mutual obligation requirements, this particular opportunity is not intended for you.

What you will do

Duties may include:

• Weeding and caring for garden beds
• Watering plants and general garden care
• Raking leaves and clearing garden areas
• Sweeping and tidying outdoor spaces
• Removing and organising garden waste
• Basic pruning and trimming where appropriate
• General grounds and outdoor maintenance
• Helping keep community areas clean, safe and welcoming
• Moving light garden materials or equipment when required
• Identifying areas around the neighbourhood house that need attention

You do not need to be a qualified gardener. We are looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on outdoor work and is willing to learn.

Please note: This is an unpaid volunteer position, not paid employment. Receiving a Centrelink payment does not automatically mean that you have mutual obligation requirements. If you are participating through Workforce Australia or another employment services provider, you should confirm with your provider that this volunteer activity and the proposed hours can be included in your individual requirements.

Time commitment

We can discuss a regular volunteering schedule with the successful volunteer. There may be an opportunity for up to approximately 15 hours per week, depending on the volunteer's individual requirements, availability and the needs of the neighbourhood house.
