What is Citizen Advocacy?
Citizen Advocacy SA is a government-funded, not-for-profit organisation established in 1987. We support individuals with intellectual disabilities to enhance their lives by making connections with members of their community.
What is a Citizen Advocate?
As a volunteer advocate your role is to develop a trusted friendship and provide support a person with disability *Strength-Based Practices: Helping them to recognise their potential and use their strengths to speak up against injustices *Personal Growth: Work through steps alongside the individual to achieve their personal and professional goals *Creating Meaning: Developing a strong and valuable relationship with the individual to create a lasting bond
#Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for volunteers who meet the following criteria: *Age: Must be 18 years or older. *Values: Compassion, commitment and courage *Commitment: Long-term advocacy.
