No More Butts is looking for a Website Coordinator to help keep our website current, effective and engaging, while helping us plan and deliver the next stage of our web presence.
Our current website is built using GoDaddy Website Builder. We also have a large portfolio of domain names, most of which permanently forward to our main website. We are looking at migrating to a more flexible website platform, creating an opportunity for someone with web experience to help shape and deliver that transition.
This is a practical volunteer role with plenty of scope to bring your own ideas and experience. You will work as part of our Marketing Communications function alongside volunteers working across digital marketing, analytics and social media.
Key duties
- Maintain and update website pages, content, images and links
- Publish new and updated content
- Keep website navigation and structure clear and user-friendly
- Identify and resolve routine website issues, broken links and outdated information
- Manage the organisation's portfolio of domains, including renewals and forwarding
- Maintain accurate records of domains and website-related access
- Monitor website and domain services to help prevent avoidable issues
- Work with other Marketing Communications volunteers to implement website improvements
- Support website analytics, tracking and other digital initiatives as required
- Research and recommend options for migrating from GoDaddy Website Builder
- Help plan and deliver an approved website migration
- Liaise with website, domain and other relevant service providers when required
- Bring ideas for improving the website's usability, accessibility, appearance and effectiveness
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with websites and digital platforms and can take ownership of keeping things organised and up to date.
You may have professional web experience, experience managing a website for another organisation, or simply strong practical skills and an interest in developing them further.
Useful experience includes:
- Managing a website through a website builder or content management system
- Updating website content, navigation and page structures
- Managing domains, forwarding or basic DNS
- Identifying and resolving routine website issues
- Website migration or experience moving between digital platforms
- An understanding of website accessibility and usability
- The ability to learn new platforms and work independently
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with other volunteers
Experience with GoDaddy Website Builder is not essential. Experience with WordPress or another modern content management system would be particularly useful as we explore options for our next website.
