Help Bring Community Events to Life

About Vic Park Community Centre

Vic Park Community Centre (VPCC) is a vibrant, community-led organisation based in East Victoria Park. We create opportunities for people to connect, learn, celebrate and thrive through a wide range of programs, workshops, community initiatives and events. The Opportunity

As a Community Event Volunteer, you'll play an important role in helping our events run smoothly and ensuring community members feel welcomed and supported throughout the day.

Volunteer opportunities may include one-off events, community festivals, markets, family activities, cultural celebrations and fundraising events.

Key Duties

Depending on the event, volunteers may assist with:

  • Event setup and pack down
  • Welcoming and directing attendees
  • Registration and sign-in support
  • Providing information and answering questions
  • Assisting activity facilitators and stallholders
  • Supporting children's and family activities (where appropriate)
  • Serving refreshments and maintaining tidy event spaces
  • Helping with accessibility and inclusion support for attendees
  • Taking photos and sharing event highlights (optional)
  • General event support as required

Skills and Experience

No previous event experience is required. We're looking for people who are:

  • Friendly, welcoming and approachable
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Good communicators with a positive attitude
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Flexible and willing to help where needed

Experience in customer service, community engagement, events, hospitality or administration is welcomed but not essential.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • Commitment to VPCC's values of inclusion, respect and community participation
  • Working With Children Check and Police Check is required of all volunteers
