The Role: In this volunteer role, you’ll be paired with a senior to provide regular social support visits in their home. Activities are guided by shared interests and may include conversation, listening to music, playing board games or simply enjoying a relaxed chat. Visits are approximately 2 hours and focused on building trust, confidence and companionship.
Our Client: We are seeking a caring volunteer to visit a friendly older woman in her late 60s who would enjoy regular social connection and companionship. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, she has a rich family background, being a twin and the youngest of a large family. She enjoys sharing stories about her life and loves connecting with people who are warm, patient, and understanding when her memory is not too good. Her interests include Line dancing, Gardening, Interior design, Music, especially the Bee Gees, learning new crafts such as candle making and sharing a laugh and enjoying life's simple pleasures She lives with her partner and would welcome a volunteer visitor who can provide friendship, conversation, and social support. A good sense of humour would be especially appreciated, as she would like to laugh more and enjoy positive social interactions. This is a pet free home, which is not smoke free. For You:

About You:
- Lives in and around Drysdale or is happy to travel.
- Possess clear communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener.
- Passionate about giving back to your community.
- Conducts yourself with open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients is always maintained.
- Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program.
- Availability for a flexible six-month commitment.
