🎉 About the Board Games Night

Just two weeks after launching Activate Mental Health, our founder took the stage at a Vic Park Collective crowdfunding dinner in Victoria Park. His passionate pitch paid off, securing $890 in funding.

Demonstrating his commitment to the broader mental health community, our founder donated 25% of the funds to another local charity. With the remaining amount, he purchased a collection of board games, laying the foundation for Activate’s monthly board game nights.

Since August 2016, these nights have been a staple at the Victoria Park Community Centre, fostering connection and community among attendees.

💬 What People Say

“I enjoy the board game night. It’s cool to get me out of the house, and I’ll meet people, and I really need that. I’ve got no family here, and I don’t have many friends here, so I need to get out. I enjoy the board game and meeting people, and look forward to it every month.”

“Great hosts, always ensuring that everyone is having a good time. Both my daughter and I love going to game nights to enjoy a lovely evening with board games, chatting with people, and being in a safe place, especially for people like me who sometimes struggle with social interactions.”
