We are looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to support our Aged Care program and help older people stay socially connected and engaged in the community.
Volunteers will assist with our weekly Social Lunch program and social outings, helping create a welcoming, safe and enjoyable experience for older people.
Duties may include:
- Welcoming and engaging with older people and helping them feel comfortable and included
- Assisting with activities, games, conversations and social interaction during the Social Lunch
- Supporting older people during community outings and excursions
- Assisting with getting on and off buses and moving safely between locations
- Providing general assistance during outings, including helping participants navigate venues
- Assisting with setting up and packing down activities and meals
- Supporting staff to ensure activities run smoothly and safely
- Encouraging participation and fostering positive social connections
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly, patient and respectful manner
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- An interest in supporting older people and the local community
- Reliability and willingness to work as part of a team
- An interest in or experience working in Aged Care is desirable
- Completion of required online training is essential. Free, self-paced training will be provided, with support available to assist you in completing the training.
No previous volunteering experience is necessary – we value enthusiasm, reliability and a genuine desire to make a difference.
