Would you like to contribute to a growing not-for-profit while building your professional writing portfolio?

The Lupus Foundation of Australasia Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals living with lupus and related autoimmune conditions. We provide education, advocacy, and practical resources to improve quality of life and raise awareness across Australia and beyond.

We are expanding our national presence and digital reach. As we grow, so does our commitment to publishing accurate, evidence-based, and patient-centred health information.

  • Write and edit educational articles, blog posts, and/or patient guides focused on lupus and autoimmune health
  • Translate complex medical and scientific information into accessible language
  • Conduct research using reputable sources, including peer-reviewed journals and clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with our small team and consult health professionals where appropriate
  • Maintain a clear, respectful, and balanced tone aligned with our organisational values

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A background in biomedical science, nutrition, physiotherapy, pharmacy, psychology, nursing, medicine, or another health sciences discipline
  • Experience writing about health or medical topics, particularly chronic illness
  • Strong research and referencing skills
  • An understanding of health literacy principles
  • Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines

What We Offer:

  • Flexible remote work with a purpose-driven organisation
  • Contribution to a growing national health foundation
  • Author bylines on all published articles
  • Permission to use published work in your portfolio
  • Clear editorial guidance and structured review

If this sounds like a good fit, please provide a recently published article, your portfolio, along with a short note outlining your background and interest in contributing.

Please address applications to Paula De Paoli, Principal Editor at the Lupus Foundation of Australasia.

We look forward to hearing from you!
