Spread some festive cheer this Christmas while helping raise vital funds for children who are blind or have low vision. Vision Australia has been selected as one of only four charity partners participating in Highpoint Shopping Centre's annual Christmas Gift Wrapping Fundraiser, supporting the 2026 Carols by Candlelight Appeal.
Volunteers will assist shoppers by professionally presenting their gifts at the charity gift-wrapping station located at Highpoint Shopping Centre, Maribyrnong. All wrapping materials and equipment are supplied by Highpoint Shopping Centre, and no gift-wrapping experience is required. Simply bring your friendly attitude, community spirit and willingness to help shoppers create a memorable Christmas experience.
Funds raised during the campaign will help children who are blind or have low vision access the services, supports and opportunities they need to thrive.
Specific Duties
- Welcome and assist shoppers visiting the gift-wrapping station.
- Wrap gifts using materials provided by Highpoint Shopping Centre.
- Maintain a friendly, professional and approachable presence.
- Represent Vision Australia positively within the community.
- Share information about Vision Australia's work when appropriate.
- Help keep the gift-wrapping area organised and tidy.
- Work collaboratively with fellow volunteers and staff.

Training Provided
- Volunteer Induction Online Training Modules.
- Role-specific on-the-job training as required.
- Briefing on fundraising campaign requirements and gift-wrapping procedures.
Time Required
This is a short-term volunteer opportunity during the Christmas fundraising campaign at Highpoint Shopping Centre.
Available Shifts:
- Monday 7 December: 11:30am to 4:30pm (5 hours)
- Tuesday 8 December: 11:30am to 5:15pm (5.75 hours)
- Wednesday 9 December: 11:30am to 5:15pm (5.75 hours)
- Thursday 10 December: 11:30am to 5:15pm (5.75 hours)
- Friday 11 December: 11:30am to 4:30pm (5 hours)
Volunteers are welcome to nominate for a single shift or multiple shifts throughout the week, subject to availability. This is a great opportunity for volunteers seeking a one-off or short-term role supporting a festive community fundraising event.
