CANsign Dispatch Manager - Canberra-based

Manage a small and happy team of 1 to 6 volunteers to help CANsign dispatch its merchandise. This involves doing actual dispatch work (packing goods into parcels, labelling and posting them) or managing a small team to do so. We have advanced systems in place and skilled staff ready to train a savvy Canberra-based volunteer.

Live in or near Canberra and have a few hours a week to spare? If so, we may be interested in you.

CANsign has dispatched over 400,000 items in the last few years. In 2022 and 2025 Climate Action Now and other Environmental signs were seen across the country and impacted State and Federal elections. We are also support other campaigns in between election periods.

These merchandise items (signs, t-shirts etc) are owned by many active Climate and Environment groups in Australia that rely on CANsign to dispatch their items and help their campaigns succeed.

Australia has approximately 2 million supporters across the country in 976 local Climate and Environment collectives. Of these collectives, 200 of the prominent and most active groups are members of the Climate Action Network of Australia and devote time and effort to work in harmony together, to campaign and to bring about great ideas for the Government to consider and implement.

CANsign is one of these 200 member groups and dispatches campaign materials as a charity and NFP organisation for about 50 of these member groups.

Your work in CANSign getting these materials out to supporters on time will therefore make a substantial difference in the climate movement.

CANsign is located in Fyshwick in the ACT and co-located within the premises of a commercial printer which is open from 8:30am to 5pm. We maintain a not-for -profit etiquette in this partnership arrangement. There are some work activities that can be done remotely from home via computer work, such as responding to customer orders, our quotes from suppliers, or liaising with our accounts team, but most of the dispatch work is done during business hours on-site.
