About the Volunteer Role
APWF are seeking motivated volunteers to be involved in this interesting project. The project activities include using specialised software to identify wildlife species and roaming cats in images collected by wildlife cameras placed around suburbs of Ipswich.
Training and Skills Development Volunteers will be trained in image analysis software, data management and identification of native species. The position would suit a wildlife or ecology student wanting to learn how to manage wildlife camera images. There is potential to gain field experience in setting wildlife cameras during the next deployment.
Commitment and Location
We are seeking volunteers who can commit to a time period of a minimum of 6 weeks. Hours are flexible, you can do as little or as much as you like, but preferably around 5 hours a week. The volunteering will be based in an office in Kenmore.
Purpose and Impact The data from this position is key in providing information about wildlife, stray and domestic cat populations and the impact of the Community Cat Program. The Community Cat Program aims to humanely reduce the numbers of stray cats through desexing to benefit the community, cats and wildlife.
Availability
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum period of 6 weeks, preferably 5 hours a week.
We are only have positions available for volunteers to work Wednesdays or Fridays 9:30am - 2:00pm in our office in Kenmore, Brisbane. Please only apply if you are available on these days and time.
