Girls Cricket Coach - Help Launch Our First Girls Team!
Help us make history at Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club! 🏏
Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club is launching our first-ever girls cricket team, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic female coach to help our Foundation Girls, aged approximately 8–11 years, discover how much fun cricket can be.
This isn’t about creating elite cricketers overnight. Many of our girls are new to the game, so we’re looking for someone who can create a fun, positive and engaging environment where girls can learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and develop a love of cricket and team sport.
The role will involve:
- Attending the girls’ Wednesday afternoon games, commencing around 5pm.
- Running or assisting with one 1-hour training session each week.
- Teaching basic cricket skills in a fun, age-appropriate way.
- Encouraging participation, teamwork, confidence and good sportsmanship.
- Creating an inclusive environment where every girl feels welcome, regardless of ability or previous cricket experience.
- Working alongside and receiving support from our Head Coach and broader junior coaching team.
We’d love someone with some cricket knowledge or playing experience and ideally some experience working with children. You don’t need extensive formal coaching experience - enthusiasm, reliability, patience and an ability to make sport fun for young girls are the qualities we value most.
Ivanhoe Saints is a community cricket club with a strong and growing junior program. This season marks an exciting milestone as we establish a dedicated pathway for girls to play cricket at our club for the first time.
In return, you’ll receive coaching, mentoring and ongoing support from our experienced Head Coach, gain valuable hands-on junior coaching experience and have the opportunity to play an important role in establishing a program we hope will continue to grow for many years. Reasonable expenses associated with the role will also be reimbursed.
The commitment is approximately 2–3 hours per week during the cricket season, with no commitment over the Christmas/summer school holiday period until school returns. We can also be flexible around university, study and work commitments.
Most importantly, you’ll help give a new group of girls a place to play, learn, belong and discover a new sport with their friends.
