Community Transport Driver
You would be volunteering for Gawler Health Service Volunteer Program. This is a role for you if you love helping people and you love driving. You will be picking clients up from their homes, in a government vehicle, and taking them to their medical appointments and returning them to their homes. There will be times where you will have 4 or 5 people to transport to appointments but our coordinators will send you the run sheets the night before for you to work out how you will navigate the drive. It is a very rewarding role knowing that you are helping people who are unable to get to their much needed medical appointments any other way. You require an unimpeded drivers licence. Initially, you will complete an application form and immunisation form, a blood test will come after that and then the required immunisations will be given to you. You will be asked to attend an interview and an NPC will need to be completed and return a 'clear' result and there is also mandatory training to be completed, as with any role.
