Wyndham Park Tool Library Volunteer Coordinator
Wyndham Park Tool Library (WPTL) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community initiative operating under Wyndham Park Community Centre in Werribee. We help the Wyndham community share tools, build practical skills, reduce waste and strengthen social connection.
We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Volunteer Coordinator to provide practical leadership and support to our established Tool Library volunteer team.
This is a hands-on coordination role for someone who enjoys working with people, keeping things organised and helping a community service run smoothly.
What you’ll be doing
You will help coordinate the day-to-day volunteer operations of the Tool Library, including:
* recruiting and welcoming new volunteers and helping identify gaps in our volunteer team
* coordinating volunteer induction, orientation, safety information and training
* managing volunteer availability and rosters and helping ensure our operating sessions have reliable coverage
* organising and facilitating regular volunteer meetings and following up agreed actions
* keeping volunteers informed of important operational updates
* working with Shift Leaders, volunteers and Wyndham Park Community Centre management to identify and prioritise operational issues
* using Monday dot com to help track issues, actions, responsibilities and progress
* supporting a positive, inclusive and respectful volunteer culture, including volunteer recognition and occasional social activities
* liaising with the Australian Library of Things and bringing useful ideas and good practice back to our local Tool Library
* identifying practical ways we can continually improve our systems, communication, training, safety, member experience and use of resources.
The role will initially include Saturday work from 10am–1pm, supervising this Tool Library session as Shift Leader, with occasional Wednesday (3-6pm) or Friday (11-2pm) shift visits, plus ad hoc training or social group volunteer activities occasionally.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a tool expert. We are primarily looking for someone with strong people and organisational skills who can communicate confidently with a diverse group of volunteers.
You should be comfortable following up tasks, coordinating competing priorities and using—or learning—digital systems such as Monday and MyTurn.
Experience in volunteer coordination, community organisations, customer service, project coordination, sheds or Libraries of Things would be valuable, but is desirable rather than essential.
Most importantly, you will bring sound judgement, reliability and a commitment to safety, inclusion, sustainability and community service.

Applicants will need to complete the required WPCC volunteer induction and relevant safety training and provide a National Police Certificate.
