Proceeds from LMA events support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity helping disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs, and skills development.

Role Purpose

This role at the heart of our volunteer operations. You will lead and support a remote team, keeping day-to-day administration running smoothly while helping shape a positive, organised, and accountable team culture.

It is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and confident in managing people in a virtual environment. As this is a new team with processes still being captured, you will need to be willing to get hands-on and roll up your sleeves to learn how things currently work, to help support less experienced volunteers.

This role suits an experienced manager looking to give back, or a skilled professional wanting to grow in a leadership context.

  • Lead, support, and coordinate a remote volunteer team of 5 to 10 people
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative operations across the organisation
  • Support the identification of grant and sponsorship opportunities
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation for applications as required
  • Delegate tasks and maintain accountability across the team
  • Maintain clear communication and foster a positive team culture
  • Develop and improve systems, processes, and workflows

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in administration, operations, or team coordination
  • Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a team, ideally in a remote or virtual setting
  • Confident communicator, comfortable managing people and building relationships remotely
  • Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and reliable follow-through on tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to delegate effectively and hold team members accountable in a supportive way
  • Comfortable using digital collaboration and communication tools (for example, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and messaging platforms)
  • Genuine passion for community and social impact
  • Willingness to get hands-on and roll up your sleeves to learn how things currently work, given this is a new team with processes still being captured to support less experienced volunteers

Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience in a not-for-profit, charity, or volunteer-based organisation
  • Experience supporting or contributing to grant and sponsorship applications
  • Familiarity with volunteer management platforms (for example, Better Impact)
  • Experience developing or improving processes, systems, or workflows
  • Formal qualifications or training in business administration, management, or a related field
