Use your financial expertise to support women and children escaping domestic and family violence and homelessness. Parramatta Women’s Shelter is seeking a skilled volunteer Treasurer to join our Board and help oversee the organisation’s financial health, governance and sustainability.

About Parramatta Women’s Shelter:

Parramatta Women’s Shelter provides crisis accommodation and outreach support for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and/or homelessness. As part of the Women’s Community Shelters network, we work with our local community to support safety, stability and long-term change.

The Opportunity

As Treasurer, you will work collaboratively with the Board, Executive team and external finance partners to provide financial oversight, strengthen governance and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor financial performance, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advise the Board on financial risks, compliance, governance and sustainability.
  • Work with finance providers, auditors and relevant committees to support accurate reporting and annual audit requirements.
  • Contribute to financial policies, internal controls and risk management processes.

What You’ll Bring

Skills & Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualification, or significant senior finance/accounting experience.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, compliance and risk management.
  • Understanding of not-for-profit governance and financial management.
  • High integrity, attention to detail and ability to explain financial information clearly.
