Position Summary
The vision of PMI Queensland Chapter is to grow & support an inspired community of project professionals, helping members achieve their personal and career aspirations. PMI Queensland Chapter won the PMI global chapter of the year award for 2020.
The volunteer role of Associate Director (AD) – Events and Professional Development is a member of the PMI Queensland Chapter Executive Team and works under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The AD Events is responsible for performing operational activities associated with the Events and Professional Development Portfolio and setting the vision for the Events and Professional Development Portfolio. The portfolio leader will have strong communication skills and will be an experienced manager, team leader, and team builder. They will be a strong team player, be proactive at bringing together the portfolio team and meets regularly with fellow portfolio leaders to ensure alignment across PMIQ portfolios.

Duties
- The AD Events and Professional Development role is responsible for the planning and conduct of all PMIQ events. In executing this role, the position will be accountable for all forward planning and organisation of the events, while reporting back to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Utilising and improving the processes already developed, the AD Events will be expected to provide further strategic support, continuous improvement and input to the portfolio.
Deliverables

Execution of monthly Chapter events, special PMIQ events and events in collaboration with other organisations

Developing strategies to improve stakeholder feedback and experience with events

Build and maintain strong working relationship with event host partners and look for opportunities to partner with new event hosts

Work in collaboration with other portfolios to gain insights into success of past events to adjust future events

Implement strategies defined by PMIQ board as communicated by COO/CEO
Education
- Tertiary Education or equivalent in management, Project Management, Business, or any related background
