Geelong Gardens for Wildlife is seeking a passionate and committed new Board member to join us at an exciting stage in our development.
Established in 2025, we are a young organisation with a strong foundation and significant opportunities ahead. This is an opportunity to help shape our strategic direction, governance, sustainability and future impact.
We are looking for someone who can bring time, energy, ideas and relevant skills to help build the organisation. Alongside good governance, we are seeking someone willing to roll up their sleeves, actively contribute to the work of the organisation and support its growth.

Key responsibilities
As a Board member, you will:

Govern in the best interests of Geelong Gardens for Wildlife and its purpose.

Contribute to the organisation’s vision, strategic direction, priorities and strategic planning.

Provide constructive advice, challenge and independent perspective to support sound decision-making.

Oversee financial performance, sustainability, risk and responsible use of resources.

Monitor organisational performance, culture, safety and effectiveness.

Strengthen the organisation’s governance, systems, processes and organisational capacity.

Contribute to sustainable funding, partnerships and other opportunities for sustainability.

Participate actively in Board meetings, committees and working groups, and follow through on agreed actions between meetings.

Lead or contribute to agreed organisational development initiatives.

Meet all governance, ethical, confidentiality and conflict-of-interest responsibilities.
