MentorsMe is seeking an enthusiastic Regional Economic Development Liaison to lead a targeted 60-day campaign introducing our volunteer business mentoring service to regional and remote Queensland.
This is a 100% work-from-home role offering complete flexibility. It is an ideal position for retired or semi-retired Economic Development Officers (EDOs), local government veterans, or business leaders looking to support small businesses across regional Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify & Map Key Stakeholders: Collate up-to-date contact information for EDOs, local Members of Parliament (MPs), Chambers of Commerce, and regional business hubs across ~60 regional and remote QLD shires (excluding SE QLD metro areas).
- Direct EDO Outreach: Make direct contact with local government EDOs to explain the MentorsMe service in detail and establish ongoing referral partnerships.
- Lead Outreach Collateral: Lead the development and refinement of outreach packages, introductory emails, and presentation kits (with support from the MentorsMe volunteer team).
- Drive Campaign Execution: Execute the contact strategy efficiently across the ~60 shires within a 60-day timeframe.
What We Are Looking For
- EDO / Local Government Background: Prior experience in economic development, local government, regional commerce, or business advisory is highly desirable (ideal opportunity for retired EDO professionals!).
- Strong Communicator: Outstanding phone and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with local council officials and community leaders.
- Self-Motivated & Organized: Comfortable working independently and managing contact databases.
- Understands importance to regularly feedback findings and contact information
- Regional QLD Focus: Deep appreciation for the unique challenges facing small businesses in regional and remote Queensland.
