Community & Corporate Partnerships Volunteer

Shine The Light Missing Persons Australia Inc

Treasured Stories Project | National Missing Persons Initiative

Shine The Light Missing Persons Australia Inc is an Australian registered not-for-profit charity supporting people and families affected by a loved one becoming a missing person.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Community & Corporate Partnerships Volunteers to help grow the reach and impact of our Treasured Stories Project — a long-term national Missing Persons initiative.

The Treasured Stories Project was created to amplify the voices of those left behind and remind the wider community that behind every missing person is a life, a family and treasured stories held close to the hearts of those who love them.

This is not a short-term campaign. We are looking for someone who can help us establish meaningful, sustainable relationships with communities and organisations across Australia as the project continues to grow.

Working alongside the Shine The Light team, you will help build community, business and corporate engagement around the Treasured Stories Project and our broader charitable mission.

The role will focus on developing relationships with Australian businesses, corporations, councils, community organisations, community groups and other potential project supporters across states, territories and island communities.

Key responsibilities may include:

Identifying potential community, business and corporate supporters nationally

Approaching organisations and introducing the Treasured Stories Project

Building and maintaining positive community and stakeholder relationships

Developing opportunities for businesses and organisations to support, promote or participate in the project

Supporting community awareness and engagement initiatives

Helping establish long-term partnerships aligned with the charity's mission and values

Maintaining professional records of contacts, conversations and partnership opportunities

Working collaboratively with Shine The Light's management and project team

Representing the project professionally, compassionately and respectfully

About You

We would particularly welcome someone with experience in community engagement, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, corporate relations, business development, public relations, communications, fundraising or the not-for-profit sector.

You will be confident communicating with people from many different backgrounds and comfortable approaching businesses, organisations and community leaders.

Most importantly, you will understand that this project involves real people and families living with the ongoing impact of having someone they love missing. Compassion, discretion, sensitivity and respect are essential.

A National Opportunity

The Treasured Stories Project is a long-term national Missing Persons initiative, with the vision of reaching communities throughout Australia — across our states, territories and island communities.

Because of the national nature of the project, this volunteer opportunity may suit someone who enjoys building relationships beyond their immediate local community and wants to contribute to the growth of an Australian charitable initiative.

Why Volunteer With Us?

This is an opportunity to help build something meaningful from the ground up.

You will have the opportunity to contribute your professional skills to a project that seeks to raise awareness, strengthen community understanding, amplify the voices of families and ensure missing people are remembered for the lives they have lived — not simply as a photograph or profile on a Missing Persons poster.

Behind Every Missing Person Is A Story That Someone They Love Holds Close To Their Heart.

If you have the experience, compassion and drive to help us bring Australian communities, organisations and businesses together in support of this mission, we would love to hear from you.
