Youth Cooking Program Support

Seymour & District Community House Inc.

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic volunteer to support the Lead Facilitator during an 11-week youth cooking program. The program will begin in Term 1 of 2027 and only run through school terms.

The volunteer will play an important role in creating a welcoming, supportive and engaging environment for young people as they develop their cooking skills and confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Lead Facilitator during weekly cooking sessions.
  • Assisting with set-up and pack-down of cooking activities and equipment.
  • Providing practical support and encouragement to young people throughout the program.
  • Helping participants develop confidence, independence and practical cooking skills.
  • Assisting with event planning and preparation for program activities.
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and safe environment for all participants.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the program and helping with general tasks as required.

About the role;

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and has an interest in cooking, community programs or youth development. You don't need to be a professional chef! Enthusiasm, patience, reliability and a willingness to support young people are highly valued.
